At The Future Foundation School, students of Classes IX to XII had a unique opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of Earth Sciences during a two-day seminar held on April 29 and 30, 2025.
The event featured two of our esteemed alumni:
Dr. Karabi Das – Assistant Professor of Geography, Dr. Kanailal Bhattacharyya College
Dr. Debaaditya Mukhopadhyay – Academic Coordinator & Assistant Professor of Geology, Techno India University
Through interactive sessions, the speakers highlighted the scope, relevance, and career pathways in Geography and Geology. Students were introduced to real-world applications of these fields, including how Artificial Intelligence is playing an increasingly vital role in Earth Sciences today.
A special highlight was the rare showcase of a Glossopteris fossil, offering students a direct glimpse into Earth’s prehistoric past — a tangible connection that sparked awe and curiosity.
The seminar concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students enthusiastically posed questions on topics ranging from environmental issues to technological integration in geosciences.
The event was more than just a learning experience — it was a powerful invitation to explore, question, and dream of a future in Earth Sciences.
