This is regarding the safety and well-being of the children attending the CSA programme at Uttarbhag, particularly in view of the recent incidents of snake bites reported at school campuses in Kolkata and the ongoing monsoon season.

The safety of our students remains our foremost priority. We would like to assure you that appropriate precautionary and safety measures are being taken at the CSA venue. The concerned staff and programme coordinators have been instructed to remain particularly vigilant during the monsoon season, and necessary precautions are being taken to minimise any potential risks arising from the surroundings.

In the event of any medical emergency, the programme staff will immediately attend to the child and arrange for necessary medical assistance and transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility. The school/organisation will coordinate the emergency response and keep the parents/guardians informed without delay. An ambulance and an attending doctor are on stand-by in AUMORTO – the senior living facility and our sister concern under the same SAIOC umbrella.

Regular testing for drinking water is done at frequent intervals and an adequate number of staff – a trained nurse, mashis and kakus are present to look after the children.

With regard to the possibility of snake encounters, appropriate preventive measures are being undertaken at the premises, including maintaining cleanliness and ensuring that the activity areas are checked and kept as safe as reasonably possible. Nevertheless, as with any outdoor location, certain environmental risks cannot be completely eliminated, and we request students to follow the instructions of the supervising staff at all times.
